Amethyst is intended for use by clients who wish to take advantage of the time and cost benefits of placing a Life Policy into a discretionary trust upon death.

Amethyst is established during the lifetime of the client so that the policy will not have to be dealt with through a Will and subsequent Probate – which can be expensive and take considerable time to execute resulting in delays to the proceeds of the policy being available to the chosen beneficiaries.

During the lifetime of the client Amethyst is not a fully active discretionary trust which means that it can be set up and maintained at a financially viable, much reduced cost when compared to an active fully discretionary trust.
